Breath counting, breathe in breathe out, one, breathe in breathe out, two, up to five then repeat. This method is ideal for beginners and experienced meditators. Once comfortable with the simple but calming of breath counting alone one can take the method further by breath focusing, can be as uncomplicated as fresh in stale out. The breath counting technique has many variations and can be adjusted from beginners to advanced practitioners. Another great thing about breath counting is you can practice literally anywhere everywhere, on the tube, reading, walking, cycling, and of course breathing is something inherently natural for us so we have a head start.
